Quality - The BOX Seat To main content

Quality assured

Quality control plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and comfort of our final products. Throughout the manufacturing process, stringent quality control measures are implemented to identify and rectify any deviations from the specified standards. As the seats are assembled, various tests are conducted to assess structural integrity. By adhering to rigorous quality control protocols, we can ensure that our products not only meet but exceed customer expectations, fostering trust and satisfaction in our market.

UV protection

The clever seat geometry ensures that when the seat is in the ‘tip-up’ position it entirely covers the backrest. The seat closes in line with the backrest, protecting it from harmful UV exposure. This vastly reduces discolouring and vignette-like fading; the underside is the only part of the chair that is exposed. In combination with The BOX Seats high UV stabilising additives, The BOX Seat lasts longer and looks smarter throughout its life cycle.

Strength & durability

Every BOX Seat is created from carefully engineered materials, providing exceptional strength and durability. Although the basic model meets International Standard Organisation specifications, each seat can be further enhanced by adding higher grades of polymer or steel if desired. The extensively engineered BOX Seat range performs exceptionally well over extended cycle testing, providing a strong, durable spectator seating solution (recently tested to Obesity High Load standards).

Soft action ‘Tip-Up’ mechanism

The silent, soft-action rotation mechanism produces a smooth, sophisticated feel and performs to over 400,000 cycles. The clever geometry and Soft action ‘Tip-Up’ mechanism of The BOX Seat eliminates ‘scissor-action’ finger traps, preventing injuries which can be caused by metal brackets in many seat designs.  The mechanism is internally sealed so that no dampening fluid escapes- even when stored for transportation- and it is not directly exposed to the elements.

Environmental sustainability

Environmental Sustainability is at the forefront of our designs. The seat geometry is engineered to reduce material and energy consumption. The patented seat tilting mechanism reduces the weight of the chair by over 2.5kg when compared to counterweight seat tipping systems. The compact design reduces storage and transportation whilst enhancing speed and ease of installation time, minimising labour and energy inputs. All components can be recycled or reused, minimising global footprint.

Fire retardency

The BOX Seat’s High Rail system elevates the seat from the ground high enough to protect from accidental, small rubbish fires and greatly reduces the likelihood of ignition from such fires. Additionally, BOX Seat models can include engineered compounds to meet FR ratings, as required.
