National Indoor Arena

Birmingham, United Kingdom

The arena was officially opened in 1991 as the National Indoor Arena. This venue underwent an extensive renovation, which was completed at the end of 2014, with a new capacity of 15,800 seats. The architecture firm Broadway Malyan designed the new arena with a showpiece entrance from the canal-side, three ‘sky needle’ light sculptures, a new glazed facade fronting the canal, and new pre-show hospitality elements. The arena has since hosted large events such as concerts, conferences, Premier League Darts, World Athletics Indoor Championships, and the Commonwealth Games.”

To facilitate various types of events, ranging from sporting events to concerts and conferences, the arena has been equipped with partial fixed, telescopic, and flat floor seating sections. The easy installation of the BOX Seat systems ensures extremely fast change-over times, which are vital for a multi-purpose venue like this one in Birmingham.
